Black and Night
In conjunction with her Master Class at RMIT, Bettina Speckner will be giving a free public lecture at 6pm, Wednesday January the 14. subject matter for creating art jewellery that bears a relationship to the wearer.
On the basis of how Bettina Speckner approaches her work, she will explore
notions of black as a colour, black as a statement, black as a feeling, night as a
state of transition, night as a special moment, as having a different ambience,
and as a context for participants to make contemporary art jewellery that has a
personal reference.

Diamonds to Die For...
Robert Baines discussed Damien Hirst's 'For the Love of God' (pictured), a human skull cast in platinum and covered in diamonds, on ABC's Radio National, 29.07.07. Here's a link to listen...http://www.abc.net.au/rn/artworks/stories/2007/1990287.htm
New Auction Location...
Due to an unfortunate twist two weeks before the auction, our booked venue fell through. However, we have rescued the situation, the auction now being held across the road from Trades Hall at upstairs at the John Curtin Hotel, 29 Lygon st, Carlton,
just around the corner from Victoria st. Same times, 6pm viewing, 7pm bidding. There are very tasty and reasonably priced pub meals downstairs, very reasonable bar prices, and of course fantastic jewellery up for auction. So come along, parking is easy to find, closest train stations are Melbourne Central or Parliament. Hope to see you there.
